exposure time & development of an INSTAX WIDE photo

  • Familiarise yourself with the ins and outs of pinhole photography.

  • There is no official data for the reciprocity failure of the Instax Wide film. All data is based on own experience and must be adapted to the lighting conditions.

  • Avoid lighting conditions with harsh contrasts and large differences in brightness, unless you want to use this as a stylistic device.

  • The use of gradient filters can prevent the sky from burning out.

  • ND filters are very useful to increase exposure time in bright daylight. However, the exposure time may be longer than originally calculated.

  • Some lightmeter apps allow you to measure directly for f 186.

  • Do not bend or shake the photo while developing it.

  • Develop the photo facing away from the light, in your pocket or a box.
